ANNOUNCEMENT!
ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Cacophony Sessions Podcast will go on an indefinite hiatus following the season four finale, in which we’ll be doing our annual Album of the Year for 2023. This will be released in January. This does not mean that The Cacophony Sessions is over. Far from it. This decision is simply due to the scheduling difficulties we have faced. As a result, the main focus will now be on producing video content on YouTube which will be far more frequent than our previous output.
There will be a renewed focus on our Slammin’ Seven series - the next of which will be released this weekend. There will be brand new long-form content, including guest interviews and video essays of which we are currently in the planning stages. The channel aims to be a place where people can come to learn about music and find entertainment in our opinions and this will not change.
When time permits we will make special episodes of the podcast and the other hosts will endeavour to appear on shows like CAC News from time to time. But in order to grow the channel sufficiently enough to cultivate a larger and more interactive audience, we need to produce more regular content.
That is exactly what we’re doing. Please help us to spread the word and interact with our videos as much as possible so we can build a place for music fans that has no corporate ties, no cutting corners for profit margins and no artistic limitations. For now, Dan will be funding the channel entirely by himself, with a mind towards eventually being able to pay other writers, presenters and editors to come and work for us. This can only happen if the channel becomes more successful which is why we want to thank everyone who has supported us so far.
A big personal thank you to Tom, Martyn, Alex, Dan B, Jim, Dave and Pete for their contributions as hosts to everything we have achieved so far. You’re all welcome to come back and help us out whenever you can.
But for now, I’m going solo. I, Daniel James Golden E. Pump d’Amour Whitell (yes that was very briefly my legal name - the E. stood for 'Eee') will be the embodiment of both the ‘Cac’ and the ‘phony’ in 'Cacophony' entirely by myself. Little scared; big confident.
See you this weekend for the Slammin’ Seven: Donny Hathaway, and then you’re getting my top ten songs of 2023 next week.
Fay Stunky,
Dan
